Increase your funds by managing other companies
Tall buildings are now being built and the area around the station is starting to look more like a real city. At this point we would like to start building some large facilities or begin some large-scale projects, but we don't have enough money. Let's look at some ways that you can increase the funds available to you.
Building and entertainment facilities that help increase your funds are treated as subsidiaries to your railroad business. You can build subsidiaries anywhere, but they are most likely to make a large amount of profit near the station.
Highly profitable subsidiaries give you a steady source of income and can also be sold, which we will explain later.
You can earn extra money by buying and selling stock. Stock prices change on a daily basis. You will obviously want to buy when the price is low and sell when it is high.
There is a fee involved when buying and selling stock, so be sure and take that into account when deciding when to buy or sell.
Your subsidiaries can be sold as pieces of real estate. You will want to build them early on while the city is still developing and sell them later, after the city has grown. This should allow you to procure a large amount of capital.
If you have extra capital, you should consider expanding into undeveloped areas. Extend the tracks from a station in a developed area and connect them to a station in an undeveloped area. If you can provide a means for passengers to travel smoothly from one area to the other, the undeveloped areas should grow.
